Short abstract:
A method for continuous production of secondary and tertiary amines through methylation of primary and secondary amines by formaldehyde at hydrogen pressure from 2 to 10 Mpa over a fixed bed of nickel catalysts at temperature from 80 to 150°C is arranged in the technology. It is based on the invention consisting in the principle that initial material is diluted by methanol in order to achieve the amine - methanol ratio from 1:2 to 1:20, more advantageous ratio falls in the range from 1:5 to 1:8.
