Short abstract:
Lead crystal glass with low lead leaching is intended for the man-made and machine – made utility glassware, especially those of luxurious character, with higher refractive index. The glass contains in % by weight: from 50 to 60 of SiO2,from 24 to 27 of PbO, from 0,1 to 3,5 of Al2O3, from 0,1 to 2 of B2O3, from 1,5 to 7 of CaO, from 6,5 to 11,5 of K2O and from 0,5 to 4,5 of Na2O, the content of Fe2O3 is in the range from 0,01 to 0,02 in % by weight the total sum of PbO and alkaline oxides is lower than 21 (expressed in mole %). The properties of the glass can be further modified by at least one oxide from the group incorporating ZnO, BaO, and MgO in the range from 0,1 to7 in % by weight. Another modifiers are individually or in a combination Sb2O3 and As2O3 in amount from 0,1 to 0,7 in % by weight.
