Cooperation with Universities and Research Centres Abroad

The Faculty of Food and Biochemical Technology (FFBT) maintains extensive links with universities all over the world, primarily in Europe and the United States. In addition to direct scientific cooperation on joint research projects as mentioned above, the Faculty also fosters contacts in the area of teaching and on the level of international scientific societies. The Faculty offers short-term study visits and even studies abroad to those students who prove a good knowledge of a foreign language and show their professional competence.

In some cases, students may receive a degree at the Institute of Chemical Technology, Prague and at the same time a degree from a foreign university. On the other hand, many foreign students come to Prague to study at the FFBT, or they come for short-term study visits organized in the framework of the TEMPUS, COPERNICUS, and IAESTE projects, or as part of UNIDO courses.

The Faculty's academic staff are members of a number of international societies such as the International Union of Pure and Applied Chemistry (IUPAC), International Union of Food Science and Technology (IUFoST), European Federation of Food Science and Technology (EFFoST), International Association for Cereal Chemistry and Technology (ICC), Commission Internationale Technique de Sucrerie (CITS), International Commission for Uniform Methods of Sugar Analysis (ICUMSA), European Legumes Research Association (AEP), European Federation of Biotechnology (EFB), European Convention of Brewers (ECB), International Institute of Refrigeration (IIF-IIR), International Life Sciences Institute (ILSI), European Consortium for Continuing Education in Advanced Meat Science and Technology (ECCE/AMST), International Association of Environmental Analytical Chemistry (IAEAC), European Molecular Biology Organization (EMBO), Federation of European Biochemical Societies (FEBS), European Federation of Chemical Societies (EFCS), European Federation of National Associations of Engineers (FEANI), and many others. The Faculty's staff are also members of editorial boards in both national and international professional journals, and they occasionally lecture at foreign universities.
