Other Activities at the Faculty of Environmental Technology

 

Individual departments of the Faculty of Environmental Technology organise various forms of postgraduate courses and retraining courses and other activities in the area of adult education. The GC-MS for Environmental Analysis is now being organised for the fourth year.

The Department of Gas Technology, Coking Chemistry and Air Protection organises regularly a four-semester course in Gas Technology and Air Protection within its adult education programme for graduates from technical and natural sciences faculties.

The Department of Water Technology and Environmental Engineering organises a four-semester course Water Technology every two to three years within its adult education programme. It is a specialization and at the same time a retraining course which is also open to graduates from related fields, e.g. from the Czech Technical University.

The Department of Power Engineering provides repeatedly the post-graduate course Power Plant Chemistry in collaboration with the Czech Power Supply Company (ČEZ), and the course Chemical Regimes of Power Generating Equipment in collaboration with the Czech Technical University.

The Department of Environmental Chemistry organises regularly interactive courses Cleaner Production in collaboration with the Czech Cleaner Production Centre, focused on specific industrial problems of environmental protection. Since 1993, the department has been organising three-week courses Waste, Its Utilisation and Liquidation within its adult education programme.

The Faculty of Environmental Technology has organised two courses of two-year specialised studies for employees of the Ministry of the Environment of the Czech Republic, the Czech Environmental Inspection, administrative bodies and plants and for private persons, in collaboration with the Ministry of the Environment of the Czech Republic, the Czech Environmental Inspection and the University of Umea, Sweden.
