UCT Prague is a research university primarily focused on technical chemistry, chemical and biochemical technologies, material and chemical engineering, food science, and environmental science. Its cutting-edge facilities and equipment together, with an impressive scientific and research profile, make it an ideal training ground for the managerial, R&D, and public sector leaders of the future.

UCT Prague has four faculties. Its competitive edge lies in its unique “weaving together” of teaching activities with the highest-quality basic and applied research. Across UCT Prague, scientific teams are intensively involved in various national and international cooperative R&D efforts. The Project Centre provides methodological and administrative support to researchers submitting project applications and managing funded projects.

UCT Prague considers the commercialisation of applied research to be an important part of its mission. For that reason, UCT Prague’ss Research and Technology Transfer Office offers researchers support, contributing to extending valourisation of scientific outputs and pursuing the quest for new collaborative partners in applied settings. In 2015, UCT Prague opened Technopark Kralupy, a science and technology hub focused on chemistry for building construction applications, materials engineering, and related fields. The Technopark plays an essential role in UCT Prague’s technology transfer efforts and strategies.

The Research and Technology Transfer Office facilitates internal grants for researchers and students, offers opportunities to compete in prestigious research competitions, and promotes active engagement and participation in student conferences.

UCT Prague is an attractive institution for young scientists and early career researchers, and the Project Centre actively supports hosting and mentoring ECRs, e.g. as part of Marie Skłodowska-Curie Actions. Here, ECRs can apply for a prestigious start-up grant, the Dagmar Procházková Fund, in order to create their own UCT Prague research groups. Postdoctoral fellows at UCT Prague receive extensive international mobility support for broadening their research horizons.

UCT Prague is actively involved in global scientific efforts and is continuously expanding and deepening its collaborations with partners around the world. The basic pillars of these activities include scientific research projects, inter-university cooperation memoranda, and Erasmus+ agreements. UCT Prague additionally creates and accredits joint study programmes with universities abroad.

Paving the way for the European Commission’s HR Excellence in Research Award, UCT Prague is committed to creating collegial working conditions, supporting continuous professional development, and transparent hiring procedures. The Personnel Department co-creates facilities for employees together with the Welcome Centre, which supports employees arriving from abroad, from assisting with the visa process to answering questions about everyday life in Prague. In its determination to be an attractive and welcoming institution for all employees and students, UCT Prague has created a Gender Equality Plan, an executive action initiative.

    Fabiánová SilvieFabianová Silvie

I run for: faculty senate for BSc. and MSc. students
I study: 1st year of MSc. – Sectoral Management, Synthesis and Manufacturing of Pharmaceuticals

    Who am I?

Ahoj!

Why should you vote for me?

    Hala MiroslavHala Miroslav

    I run for: university senate
I study: 1st year of MSc. – Chemistry and Chemical Technologies

    Who am I?

My name is Mira Hala. I started my first year of doctorate studies at the Department of inorganic technology. I am currently the vice-chair of the academic senate.

I did not know what to write to introduce myself two years ago. I had been a leader at freshman orientation, had a few friends from academic senates, had an interest in politics, and liked to help people. I had no idea know what to expect. Now I know. I gathered experience in the first year, became a vice-chair in the second, and started to lead the student chamber. There are a few successful projects behind me, the most recent being „První akademická“ after freshman matriculation.

Why should you vote for me?

With my colleagues, we have earned respect from the university management allowing us to promote student interests. Together with Mariana Hanková, we have a strong position at the Students chamber of the council of HEIs. This institution solves nationwide education problems, communicates and advises the ministry, and is a great source of inspiration and examples of good practice.

Some problems can be solved with one meeting, some, as is the conception of doctorate studies or duplication of subjects at pregraduate levels, are deep in the university system and the whole education.

We work to make communication with the student body, faculty senates, and student organizations better. I wish the number of woman senators would increase. They would lead by example and inspire, not only at the university, and could create an environment for future generations. My big ambition is to appoint an ombudsman to help solve conflicts between academics and students. Integration of a career and motivation subject to our curriculums would help to improve our education. I would appreciate your vote and promise you I will represent you proudly.

    Havlíková PetraHavlíková Petra

I run for: faculty senate for BSc. and MSc. students
I study: 2nd year of MSc. – Chemistry and Technology of Materials

    Who am I?

My name is Petra Havlíková and I study Biomaterials at The Department of Metals and Corrosion Engineering. I am member of Tutors for two years. Part of my work is being coordinator of project Kruhový tutoring where I was as one of founding members. My avocation is travelling and discovering of new places. From many places I bring several tourist stamps.

Why should you vote for me?

Our school really grew on my heart and I would like to help in its development. Participation on annual meeting of K3S convinced me, that there is always something to be improved. At this time there is 54 % of female students, but their reprersentation in senate is only 2 from 8 senators. In my opinion this percentage should be reflected in the senate composition. I would like to be one of the women voices in the senate.

back to the list of candidates

    Hříbalová SoňaHříbalová Soňa

I run for: faculty senate for doctoral students
I study: 3rd year of Ph.D. – Chemistry and Technology of Materials

    Who am I?

I am a 3rd-year doctoral student at the Department of Glass and Ceramics, and this is my eighth year at UCT Prague. I have spent almost 2 years in the Academic Senate of FCT and during that time, I have been representing the student section as its vice-chairman. Another position where I am representing students of our university is the Ethics Committee of UCT Prague. Many of you already know me from the seminars „Are you considering doing a PhD?“ and „PhD Freshmen?“ I am co-organizing every year with my colleagues.

In my doctoral studies, I deal with several topics: light scattering in transparent ceramics, property predictions of piezoelectric ceramics, and, generally said, property predictions of heterogeneous materials and metamaterials.

Why should you vote for me?

During the past two years, I have been engaged with topics regarding doctoral studies. The covid-related as well as long-term topics – improving the awareness of doctoral students about study obligations, their rating, and financing. Moreover, I have focused on issues regarding international students. For example, we started organizing seminars about doctoral studies in English.

Soon, the topic of doctoral studies will have to be opened on a larger scale due to the expected changes in the law. I would like to look into the causes of bad experiences with doctoral studies and their unsuccessful completion. Because this topic contains everything that has to be addressed – the awareness about doctoral studies and the obligations, financing, pedagogics, education, and much more. I have already dealt with all of these topics and contributed to improving the current situation and I plan to deal with this in the future as well – in the senate and/or outside the senate.

If you decide to support me and elect me as your representative, then (in the same way as up until now), I will take care of all the issues you contact me with and I will represent you in the senate to my best abilities.

back to the list of candidates

    CutiLe Tuan Anh

I run for: university senate and faculty senate for doctoral students
I study: 1st year of Ph.D. – Chemistry and Chemical Technologies

    Who am I?

They call me Cuti and I am a study group tutor (for 3 study groups), member of Tutors (coordinator of the e-mail response team), founder/manager/choreographer of the Streetdance section of the Department of Physical Education and Sport of UCT Prague, member of 4students, member of UCT Gaming, PhD. student/colleague at the Department of Organic Technology (111), popularizer of our university, „integrator“ (projects for Tutors and other projects for integrating students), a fan of our university orchestra, recreational tennis player, basketball player, floorball player, archer, dancer, chess player (shout out to the UCT Chess Club!), an older brother, son, boyfriend and a friend. ^^ :3 And a senate candidate now aswell!

PS: the list is NOT sorted by the importance of those functions and activities ;)

Why should you vote for me?

Due to all of my activities I get to interact not only with students at all levels of study but with the staff and employees of the university aswell. In the last 2 years as a Tutor I was able to bring those two worlds closer together, find an acceptable solution for both sides to a few problems or effectively explain the views of one side to another. I would love to continue in the same manner as a senator. The way Tutors and senate operate are very different but I am confident that I can apply my organizational, communication and management skills at the senate level aswell, where I would like to focus on the before mentioned communication between all the entities, e.g. faculty senate-academic senate, students-employees, senate-rest of academic community… Other topics/projects I would like to focus on are: quality of the education (for example the SIS survey), ERD, digitization, classes in English.

back to the list of candidates

    Priškin JonášPriškin Jonáš

    I run for: university senate
I study: 3rd year of BSc. – Chemistry of Biomaterials for medical applications

    Who am I?

Hi, I am currently attending third grade at Faculty of Chemical Technology. My field of study are polymers, more precisely in medicinal use. In free time, I sometimes climb, go on HMCH (modern lessons of chemistry) and I am tutoring group 107. We might seen each other in lab, at School Labyrint run (I was taking pictures) or at mock Maths A exam.

Why should you vote for me?

I am always looking for any optimisations, maybe due to my laziness. Every opportunity is interesting for me. I am active at school popularisation events and listening to others and solving their troubles a joy for me. The inside run of our school is the next dimension projected in our studies. For ideas for improvements and issues gathered in the past years (consistency about subjects, chaotic e-learning, sorting of our sylabus) I hope to gather a better point of view. Things are difficult, but there is always a way 🥳

back to the list of candidates

    Tsepeleva AlisaTsepeleva Alisa

I run for: faculty senate for doctoral students
I study: 2nd year of Ph.D. – Chemistry and Technology of Materials

    Who am I?

Russian girl in Prague – how Sting could sing. Within the specialization Metallurgy, I’m studying methods of preparation of new alloys based on aluminum and manganese – metals historically widely used in industry: from the skeleton of the first airships Graf Zeppelin to the modern spaceships and tins of barley drink that you take with friends after lectures. Thanks to working at the IPP CAS within my diploma thesis, I have learned to see primarily a man behind every expert, with whom it is possible or impossible to negotiate. In my spare time, I focus on books, where I always find smarter and more experienced people than I am.

Why should you vote for me?

If you have been trying, like Kafka's surveyor, to get to the Castle, whether with administrative documents, study problems or just a new idea, but no one hears you, let`s knock on the gate together. Life is far from rosy and your problems may remain unresolved, but no one prevents us from increasing the entropy around your situation and thus increasing the probability of a positive result for you, even if your assistant will speak with Russian accent =).

back to the list of candidates

    Vacek CyrilVacek Cyril

I run for: faculty senate for BSc. and MSc. students
I study: 3rd year of BSc. – Chemistry and Technology of Materials

    Who am I?

I am a student but I have a feeling that I had been robbed of something that being a student meant to me. Now I am trying my best to catch it up. I am trying to surround myself with friends I feel great being around and visit as many cafes as one person possibly can. I am an idealist and I trust in optimal and conceptual solutions and I am trying to find them over skepticism of skepticist. That is also probably the reason why I have decided to candidate.

Why should you vote for me?

My desire to take an active part in university development has accumulated and I think that faculty senate is a great place where I can transform this desire into something beneficial. My friends and I started to participate in communal politics in our hometown Železný Brod couple of years ago due to the mentioned idealism and I think that as a representative i have gained some experiences I could use. We live in a time of rapid development of technologies which inevitably permeate into education. I think that students are obligated to inform university about possibilities of aplication of these technologies in teaching and administration. Time has shown that a lot of tools implemented rapidly during pandemic are great and useable during face to face teaching also. It is our job to unify and refurbish those tools now. For example in this I see a huge potential of faculty senate.

    Frank KryštofFrank Kryštof

I run for: university senate and faculty senate for BSc. and MSc. students
I study: 1st year of MSc. – Energy and Fuels

    Who am I?

I am currently studying at the Departement of Power Engineering, where my research subject is the analysis of corrosion layers of zirkonium alloys. I am aslo an employee of the Central Laboratories, specifically the Laboratory of Molecular Spectroscopy. My biggest hobby is music – I play far too many musical instruments.

Why should you vote for me?

I would like to actively participate on making our faculty (and therefore the entire UCT) a modern institution of the 21st century. In the Faculty Senate. I would like to continue to address current challenges, such as expanding teaching in the English language, greater use of e-learning, improving the teaching of economics or close cooperation with the newly established CirkTech Center.

I would also like to open up new challenges, such as greater usage of modern methods in teaching (such as the usage of YouTube or the e-learning already mentioned), a little more emphasis on logical thinking than memorizing formulas and greater faculty involvement in public space.

I would also like to introduce (if interest and time options allow) regular informal meetings with students, where we could share information and ideas for solutions in the Senate.

    Popovič JakubPopovič Jakub

I run for: faculty senate for BSc. and MSc. students
I study: 1st year of BSc. – Ecotoxicology and Environmental Analysis

    Who am I?

Hi guys! I’m Jakub and I’m a student in the first year of a BSc study programme Ecotoxicology and environmental analysis from the Faculty of Environmental Technology. I come from eastern Slovakia, which inspired me to study the programme because a huge part of the area I live in is polluted by toxic pollutants such as PCB. That’s why I’ve decided not to study medicine because it would bring me greater satisfaction if I could help the biggest amount of people by preventing the problem rather than helping cure them individually.

When it comes to my hobbies I like playing and watching tennis and other sports as well. I like binge-watching TV series on streaming platforms. And of course, I love spending time with my family and friends on various occasions.

Visiting galleries, theatres and cinemas is another hobby of mine, because with every visit I can find something that inspires me to positively change something in my life.

Why should you vote for me?

As I mentioned in the previous answer, I recognize the problems of my homeland. I’m able to quickly adapt to new environments, recognize and analyse problems that are standing in the way of progress. That’s why I’ve decided to join K3S, which connects people from senates and student groups because I want to understand how the school operates, considering I’m planning to spend 5 years of my life here.

I like having conversations with people, but I enjoy being a listener even more because it gives me a chance to understand the other side. And that is what I imagine a senator to be like. It should be a person, that communicates with students and listens to them so he or she can get suggestions that may be useful for a better life at the faculty or school. These suggestions can then be further discussed among school senators.

I am in my third year of doctoral studies at the department of Power Engineering at UCT Praque. My research focuses on a preparation of polymer sorbents for ionex and chromatographic use. In my free time I travel, read a good book and do all kinds of sports.

Why should you vote for me?

I engage in various school activities and I would like to bring some positive changes at our faculty. I already have been active in a faculty senate during my master studies.

I run for: university senate and faculty senate for BSc. and MSc. students
I study: 2nd year of MSc. – Environmental Engeneering and Analysis

    Who am I?

Although I became a chemistry student a bit by accident and it took a while, in the end I really fell for UCT. I am also a member of K3S, where I participated, for example, in the organization of the first year of the Vitriol student award. I try to spend my free time in nature, the happiest I am on a hike. That is why I am currently having the best time taking part in Erasmus programme in Austria.

Why should you vote for me?

I believe that our university is at a high level in terms of education, access to students and communication, yet there is still room for improvement. For example, I would like to see the teaching concept adapted so that it is more based on discussion, group work and projects. It seems important to me that students learn to work better with the acquired knowledge. After my experience of studying abroad, I would try to push for more courses to be taught in English.

    Who am I?

I am studying the doctoral program Food and Natural Products at the Department of Food Analysis and Nutrition in our University of Chemical Technology in Prague. I belong to the group of the founding members of the Orchestr VŠCHT student association. I am active member and also member of the arts council of this student association.

Why should you vote for me?

UCT Prague, as my alma mater, has grown very close to my heart after more than 5 years and I would like to participate in its development and moving forward. Communication with the wider environment is not foreign to me. I like to discuss issues, whether they are banalities or fundamental issues.I would like to highlight the opinions and ideas of students in higher spheres and give them due weight. I would like to participate in creating a friendly and comfortable environment for students.

    Fous KarelFous Karel

I run for: university senate and faculty senate for BSc. and MSc. students
I study: 1st year of MSc. – Biotechnology and Bioengineering

    Who am I?

I am a 1st year master's student in Biotechnology and Bioengineering. For the second year, I am a tutor, a member of the Balling Home Cookers Association and not for long a member of the Faculty Senate. I have been going to freshman meeting course for several years and I am glad to be one of the first people that new students meet. For my year, I co-organized an event to celebrate the end of the first semester and also a dating list for sophomores. I like to study our school and it is right for me to leave it in a better condition than I started. In this way, I would like to take part in change.

Why should you vote for me?

In the faculty senate, I barely had time to look around and understand how everything works. It would therefore be a shame not to use my newfound knowledge in the next parliamentary term. I am currently considering whether to continue my studies for a doctorate. The main counter-arguments are the low evaluation of doctoral students and inconsistencies in the content of their work. Therefore, I would like to take part in changing the conditions of doctoral studies and thus help students with decision-making. I would also like to support the emerging initiative for a fair approach to both sexes. At the same time, I would like to raise the awareness of projects of senators and other active students (especially from K3S) and open up topics that K3S addresses in a broader discussion.

I run for: faculty senate for BSc. and MSc. students
I study: 3rd year of BSc. – Biochemistry and Biotechnology

    Who am I?

Hello, my name is Kuba and I have been studying Biochemistry and Biotechnology (specialization in biochemistry and microbiology) for the third year in a row. I am a member of the Tutoři association, where I work as a "lifeguard" for freshmen. In my free time I cook a lot and bake some goodies (if you want to verify it, you can write me :D). I also like to try new caffes or restaurants, where I sit with friends, eat well and have a good beer.

Why should you vote for me?

I am in the tutors association, and at the same time I am a collaborator in the IAESTE association. Which means I participate in a lot of projects across the school. As for example in the Freshman's Guide and I represent the role of the main coordinator for the newly emerging Sophomore and third guide. I also participate in enrollment for freshmen. Although I am part of many projects, I am able to bring everything to a successful end. I am a person with a good soul, I listen to the problems of students and pass on their comments and opinions. I would also like to use this ability in the Senate. I would also like to improve communication between students and the school and motivate active students in their projects.

    Husáková Markéta

I run for: university senate and faculty senate for doctoral students
    I study: 2nd year of Ph.D. – Biotechnology

    Who am I?

I am a second-year PhD student at the Department of Biotechnology. I have triied to be active and to know what’s going on at the university since I have started studiing at UCT. I am a member of K3S, an alumnus of ESN UCT Prague and a tutor. I am taking a teaching course at UCT and I am interested in science popularisation. Just by doing my PhD, there is not much time I’d like to. While doing my PhD I am not having as much time as I would like to.

Why should you vote for me?

Thanks to K3S I know which problems are being discussed now at school. Thanks to K3S I am up to date with the issues of the univerzity. I was a part of senat of FFBT for half of the year in 2019. There is a lot of things I would like to change at UCT. The main topic I would like to focus on are PhD students – our needs, school’s attitude towards us, our duties and their adequate valuation. I would like to initiate and support interdisciplinary and interfaculty collaborations, sharing of know-how and devices. I do not want to be passive, just watch and complain at the pub. I would like to try to change things and move them forward.

    Michailidu JanaMichailidu Jana

I run for: faculty senate for doctoral students
I study: 5th year of Ph.D. – Biochemistry and Biotechnology

    Who am I?

I am janka, I am from Petrovice u Karviné, I am a biotechnologist, I am a Pirate and I have been a part of UCT for 10 years already (same goes for the Pirate party). Apart from my PhD specialization, which is the use of plant extracts in metal nanoparticle synthesis, I invest most of my free time to team leadership in the Pirate party - I lead the National comitee (party's legislative authority), Addictive behaviour team and Mental health team. My ultimate calling in life is the systemic increase in welfare of all beings. This is also one of the main reasons I am involved in topics such as addictive behaviour and mental helth - in the centre of both of these issues there is a lot of unhealed trauma, which prohibits both individuals and society as a whole from healthy progress and fullfilling their potential.

Why should you vote for me?

UCT has been kind of the school of witchcraft and wizardry in my life (including the labyrith-like premises and changing staircases). I have a deep long-lasting relationship with UCT and I care deeply about it being a pleasant piece of Space for its students and employees. I want UCT to be a place, where democratic discussion of these groups of people can occur, and I want it to be a transparent organization with european-level moral values which it is not afraid to enforce. I am a person who likes to approach things systematically (which you could see in the above "Who am I"), so pursuing Academic Senate seems logical to me. Moreover, I have been a member of the FPBT Academic Senate before, so I probably also already have the necessary experience.

    Pániková TereziePániková Terezie

I run for: faculty senate for doctoral students
    I study: 4th year of Ph.D. – Biochemistry

    Who am I?

I am a student in the 4th year of doctoral studies at the Department of Biochemistry and Microbiology. I spent the whole 5 years of my studies at the UCT, but I came to the laboratory of Dr. Jiráček at the Academy of Sciences at UOCHB for a PhD. So I didn't go far at all and I keep coming back to school to meet friends and for pedagogical activities. In my master's degree, I became involved in the Erasmus Club and in Tutors. At IOCB, I became a PhD representative for a year and I tried to organize the get-to-know-each-other of new doctoral students during the covid period. I am not sure that I will be a student of the UCT for the whole 2 years, during which the term of office is, but I can work with my substitute so that handing over the position is not a problem.

Why should you vote for me?

Because I have a laboratory at IOCB, I am not so familiar with current events at school. I can bring an external insight into these events from the position of a doctoral student mostly moving outside the school environment. At the same time, you, PhD students, can turn to me without worrying that I would be involved in any side of the situation you are currently in and you would like your vote / opinion / comment to be transferred to the Academic Senate.

I would like to see if it would be possible (and desirable) for greater involvement of doctoral students working at school in the work of the institutes of the Academy of Sciences, where, for example, they could have access to interesting devices.

Hi, my name is Maxim Pljaskov and I am in the second year of bachelor's study at the Faculty of Food and Biochemical Technology (curriculum: Natural Compounds and Pharmaceuticals). Next year you will probably see me on social networks of UCT turning the attention of high schoolers to our university through short documentary stories about our motivations.

Why should you vote for me?

I really like to challenge myself and I think that I can bring some kind of outside the box thinking and inovative ideas to almost every field. The faculty senate could be an interesting opportunity for me and I would like to experience it, however this can happen only because of you!

    Vaňous JanVaňous Jan

    I run for: university senate
I study: 2nd year of MSc. – Microbiology and Genetic Engineering

    Who am I?

Why should you vote for me?

Why should you vote for me?

I have been interested in the functioning and non-functioning of our school for a long time. I am in contact with older and younger students and I perceive things that bother others. Who am I?

I am a third-year bachelor's student. I am in the field of study of Forensic Analytical Chemistry at FCHI. Most recently, I am a tutor for the first degree bachelors' students and I have also joined the dance group at UCT, which charges me by a positive energy. I think I'm socially and empathetic enough to be able to express my opinion, but with the knowledge that we all live in our own world with our own opinions. I always try to find a compromise solution. At the same time, I am honest, patient and I like challenges. For these qualities, I decided to accept the nomination and actively participate in improving the system, communication, relationships and general shortcomings in our school for easier cooperation and development not only of the school but also of individuals.

Why should you vote for me?

To begin with, I would like to address the shortcomings in the teaching of specific subjects or teachers, which have become visible, especially during the pandemic, and suggest their improvement. Furthermore, I would like to propose the introduction of more internships not only for master's degree programs, but also for the third year of bachelor's studies, so that we have a better idea of what we are throwing ourselves into. After my experience with a dance association, I would like to support the development of our associations and projects and especially their cooperation. I will be happy for further suggestions for improvement and of course I will fight for comfortable school seats. : D I no longer just want to criticize, but to find a solution for better results. :)

In my free time I do scouting, occasional cycling, cimrmanology, hitchhiking, and long-distance walks.

Why should you vote for me?

I would like to know more about the inner functioning of the school with all its strengths and weaknesses. I would like to help, with my work, to improve it as much as possible. I am aware of the importance of extracurricular assets for students, and I would try to support them. I would like to improve communication with students and become its active tool, even if it means visiting Carbon daily. There would be a lot more I would like to change, but no one reads too long paragraphs of text. In the words of the master himself: "Every useless word is useless."

I run for: university senate and faculty senate for BSc. and MSc. students
I study: 1st year of MSc.Chemical Engineering and Bioengineering

    Who am I?

I am currently studying Chemical engineering and bioengineering in the first year of my masters. At the same time, I really like getting involved in the active student life at UCT. I have been a member of Tutoři for several years, through which I am trying to help other students with their issues. Furthermore, I am involved in K3S, and I used to be engaged in ESN as well.

In my free time, I am very keen on pretty much any kind of sport. Nevertheless, my favourite one is cycling. I love to ride my bike everywhere, both in the Czech Republic and in Europe.

And most probably, I am one of the only 10 people on Earth who eats kiwi unpeeled.

Why should you vote for me?

I decided to run for the Senate for the same reason I joined the Tutors and K3S. I enjoy helping people around me and improving the environment we are in.

In Senate, I would like to focus on changing how we look at teaching and assessing courses and getting more modern technology into teaching (such as a greater computer software implementation). I would like to see a greater emphasis on communication, teamwork, and the practical application of acquired knowledge rather than just memorizing entire scripts and dozens of formulas.

At the same time, I would like to build on my K3S project and promote opportunities for students to directly evaluate the teaching throughout the semester and influence teaching style. I would also like to build on the work of my colleagues in the area of digitizing administration so that there is not so much paperwork and personal presence at school needed, but more things can be managed electronically from home.

Of course, as a senator, I would like to listen to your opinions and suggestions and support their implementation.

Why should you vote for me?

Since the end of last academic year, I have been helping as a tutor, where I try to answer lost students in the school administration. From there, I identified a few areas that needed to be improved. I am happy that everything works as it should and it is efficient and fast – from the faculty senate I would try to solve these areas, among other things so that current/prospective students find everything they need to know with a few clicks and do not have to search for information on the school website, through the websites of the institutes, writing to the dean's office, etc. It would also be nice for the information to be understandable and clear. Last but not least, I would try to promote student associations.

    Jíša Jan PavelJíša Jan Pavel

I run for: faculty senate for BSc. and MSc. students
I study: 1st year of BSc.Nano and Microtechnology in Chemical Engineering

    Who am I?

Hello, my name Jan Pavel Jíša and I am studying Nano and micro technology at FCHI. Yes I am first grader and I am running for the chair in the Academic senate. It may sound weird but I have much greater relationship with VŠCHT than you might imagine. Basically I have been attending this university for more than 2 years now through various courses. That was the time when I fall love with these walls and so when the big question came where to put my application. The answer was obvious.

What really define a man are his interests and hobby’s. For me it’s mainly surfing, ancient history and modern history, football psychology, theatre, piano, traveling to southern parts of the world mainly Africa and meeting new people.

Offended when we decide to go on a trip with my friends, I am not particularly comfortable with role as a participant. I always be rather in the role of organizer. For the most part I don’t do it for the good feeling or few pats on the back. I do it mainly because when something happens, I am behind the wheel and not giving my fate in the hand of somebody else. Same I have it with everything else I would rather be behind the wheel than just ride along.

Why should you vote for me?

What can I offer the senate is my dedication, willingness to help and mostly ability to work with people. Because of my extroverted nature it’s quite easy for me to bond with anybody really. Then cooperation or negotiation with that person comes down more easily. I have come across multiple times with school politics. For example I have part of the Czech delegation in Madrid on a European private high schools conference.

Personally my goal is help students which need help with studies, mostly in the first semester. Sometime happens that you are good at maths but you are failing in chemistry and your classmate have it other way around. But in the first semester you don’t know really anybody and you don’t what to bother people you don’t really know. So why not create platform where we can you can offer your knowledge in exchange for someone else’s. Therefore you don’t have to look or pay for any tutoring and also can make new friend. Something like VŠCHT tutoring tinder.

I am very interested in what is happening in our campus, I participate in K3S meetings and I am solving student problems.I like to face new challenges, gain new skills and experience. My most valuable qualities are patience, sincerity, determination and perseverance. These qualities are, in my opinion, crucial for a senator. I like discussion and with strong arguments, I am not afraid to reconsider my opinion. I know that your vote put your trust in me. I will try to speak with you as much as possible and listen to your ideas and complains. I spend a lot of time at the UCT and I care which direction we go. I want to support student associations and I would like to make public learning materials which were created during the period of distance learning.

     Svoboda DanielSvoboda Daniel

I run for: faculty senate for BSc. and MSc. students
I study: 3rd year of BSc. – Chemistry

    Who am I?

My name is Daniel Svoboda and I was born in Pilsen. Currently, I am in my 3rd year of the study program called "Chemie." My field of interest is the chemistry of transition metals. At the UCT, you could also find me at the rehearsals of our school choir ChemChór and among the members of the ESN UCT. I spend my free time pursuing different creative activities such as playing the piano, translating artistic pieces and educational material or tap dancing as well. I find the education to be one of the most valuable things in the modern world. Also for that reason, I collaborate with programs focused on interactive education of mainly high school students. During my high school studies, I've got the opportunity to spend one year in the US, which helped me to significantly broaden my horizons and allowed me to see things from a much different perspective.

Why should you vote for me?

I have accepted the nomination mainly to allow those who have nominated me as a candidate to express their opinion. I take pride in my ability of connecting people and of achieving improvements through such collaborations. I would like to focus on improving study possibilities in a foreign language at the UCT and on improving the entire system of optional courses in general. Through these changes, I'd like to ease and make studies abroad more attractive for the Czech students as studying in a foreign language at their home institution helps them to prepare for studying abroad. Furthermore, these changes should help integrate foreign students studying at the UCT into the Czech student community. It is the lack of interactions between the Czech and foreign students that I see as an unfulfilled potential of the UCT that could bring significant enrichment to the UCT even in the long term.
