Conservation-Restoration of Glass and Ceramic Works of Arts and CraftsBachelor Study Sub-programme, Faculty of Chemical TechnologyOverviewThe four-year bachelor's degree is based on current knowledge and experience that the professional conservation and restoration requires not only having a historical-artistic and technical education, but also quality scientific, technological and material education. The axis of the study is five semester projects and bachelor's thesis, which teaches students to apply theoretical knowledge and practical skills to real monuments of glass or ceramic material. These works fulfils the requirements of restoration reports and are supervised by licensed restorer and UCT Prague teacher. CareersGraduates are qualified as direct implementers of restoration and conservation work for metal objects or as curators of collections of metal objects. They are employed both in museums and other institutions focusing on the protection of monuments, but they work as freelancers as well. Part of the graduates also continues in the master degree study at the University of Chemistry and Technology, Prague in the field of conservation and restoration, or they may continue their studies at other faculties of Czech universities of similar focus.
