Technology of Conservation and Restoration

Bachelor Study Sub-programme, Faculty of Chemical Technology


A three-year bachelor's degree is designed as an interdisciplinary and prepares conservation professionals having not only natural, technological, and material education, but also the education in the history of art. Great emphasis in the curriculum is put on practical laboratory skills as well as on the independent practical work of students. Thanks to the structure of the study program and sufficient subjects eligibility, graduates are prepared to practice as technologists in care of monuments, museum collections and archaeological finds.


Graduates of the bachelor's degree usually continue in the master study technology for conservation and restoration, or may find applications in museums, galleries, archives, libraries or institutions conservation. They also fill positions in industry focusing on the production of materials and technologies for the protection and preservation of monuments or in companies focusing their activities in this area.
