UCT Prague ranks among the top thirty in the world in terms of faculty-to-student ratio

The University of Chemical Technology, Prague (UCT Prague) ranks among the top thirty universities in the world in terms of faculty-student ratio, according to the QS World University Rankings. No other Czech university tops UCT Prague in this category as well as in the diversity of its international student nationalities. Overall, in terms of the percentage of international students, UCT Prague ranked second among Czech universities and 205th worldwide. It also ranked third in terms of citations per academic staff member.

“We like to tell our students that there are no anonymous masses at UCT Prague, that we care about each student personally. I am glad that this highly respected international ranking system clearly reflects this,” Rector Milan Pospíšil said. “Being among the thirty best universities in the world in a category that shows an individual approach to students cannot be taken for granted. This approach requires significant effort and resources, but we make it happen systematically and with pleasure. What else should a university use its institutional resources on but its students, the ones who will one day improve the world?”

UCT Prague is also at the top among Czech universities in categories focused on the internationalization of the university environment. “Our university has long had a good reputation and is respected abroad, from chemistry to economics and management educational programmes. The high number of students from various corners of the world creates a unique environment here, where different perspectives on science, teaching, and the world meet in a friendly atmosphere and find inspiration,” Rector Pospíšil said.

In terms of points, the university improved in six out of nine indicators in the most recent QS World University Rankings. In the overall ranking of Czech universities, UCT Prague maintained its fifth position.
