UCT Prague to Gain Access to the World’s Most Advanced Quantum Computers

UCT Prague is continuing its intensive preparations to join the top tier of quantum computing technologies. Ahead of the start of the winter semester, Vice-Rector for Strategies and Development Veronika Kramaříková visited IBM’s largest research laboratory in the United States together with representatives of the Czech public administration and several other universities. IBM is a technology leader in the field of quantum technologies. The programme, which was also attended by selected IBM vice-presidents, included discussions on the potential applications of quantum technologies in chemistry-related fields as well as specific opportunities for cooperation with UCT Prague.

‘Within the next few months, UCT Prague will join the Quantum Innovation Center network, which comprises only 40 centres worldwide. Eight universities and the Czech Academy of Sciences are currently involved in the Czech Republic. This will soon give UCT Prague the opportunity to perform calculations on the world’s most advanced quantum computers,’ says Vice-Rector Kramaříková. ‘We will also be able to make use of the entire innovation ecosystem and connect with other quantum centres around the world. Another major benefit is the opportunity to gain technological expertise directly from IBM’s research team.’
